2 Men and a Truck relocation complaint – they tried to double their quoted flat rate price right before my move!

2 Men and a Truck flat rate relocation review

2 Men and a truck tried to pull a fast one on me by doubling my moving price right before my move with no warning and for no reason!

I hired the relocation moving company 2 men and a truck and gave them a detailed account over the phone about how much stuff I had and how many heavy pieces of furniture and similar that needed to be moved. Over the phone, the lady at 2 Men and a Truck gave me an estimate flat rate of $520.00 for the whole move. When I asked her how certain this was she said it was exactly what I would be billed plus or minus $20 or so.

Then, without any warning and for apparently no reason, 3 days before I was supposed to move a girl from 2 Men and a Truck calls me on the phone and tells me that the exact same move will now cost a flat rate of $1,000.00! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! I was almost stuck with this price doubling by these moving crooks! This is probably why they do this and wait right until their moving date so customers are basically stuck and they have to accept their doubled prices.

This is an outrage and is price gouging (I believe that is illegal in the US). Well, lucky for me I didn’t have to vacate my apartment on the 1st of the month or otherwise I would have been stuck with their outrageously doubled prices for moving the exact same amount of stuff for my relocation. So now I’m interviewing other, less greedy movers and having them come out and give me an estimate in person and in writing so i’m not tricked again by this bait and switch scam like 2 Men and a Truck tried to do to me.

I can’t stand companies that treat customers like 2 Men and a Truck tried to do to me. This is clearly unethical business practices.

Warning — This comment is most likely from an employee or other person similarly vested in 2 Men and a Truck. — Warning A word of caution here…
Bad reviews such as this one with little or no detail (no location, no date, no names, etc…) are usually posted by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK competitors who cannot, or will not, meet the standards set by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises and want only to tarnish the reputation of the company.
