Banned xBox 360′s for sale on Craigslist, Ebay and Amazon.com!

cracked xBox 360 game system

Be careful as the xBox 360's you see for sale on websites like Craigslist may be banned from online play.

The latest development in the gaming world is that Microsoft recently announced that they are banning cracked or hacked (pirated) Xbox 360 gaming systems. What this means is that you can’t use a pirated Xbox 360 system to play live or online. Microsoft announced that they’re not doing what’s called a brick as of yet – if you don’t know what a brick is that’s what the Apple iPhone did to the original users that tried to unlock their phones – they bricked and were no longer usable.

So these Xbox 360′s will still work and play pirated games, you just can’t play them online and connect with others online. Because of this there is a huge increase in the number of pirated systems being sold online in places like Craigslist, eBay and even on Amazon.com. The majority of these are being sold on craigslist, though, and they’ll include tons of games to try and unload these banned gaming systems.

Apparently the online or live version of some of these games is so enticing that people are actually selling these banned systems in droves trying to recoup enough money to buy an actual legitimate system. Some are good enough to tell you that it is a pirated or hacked or cracked xBox 360 system. As they may be good enough to tell you that they’ll give you 20 or even 50 games with it for $300. That is still quite a bargain, but you’ll just have to realize you can’t go and play the online versions of these games or on the online community itself.

Some ads you can tell are about a cracked or unlocked system as they might say something like they made copies of the original disks for backups and lost them so they only have the copies – yeah, right. They copied them and it’s pretty obvious.  I could see someone losing one or two, but not 30 or 50 or more games which can cost as much as $50 each.  Some of these sellers will even tell you in their listing that they will get you whatever games you want.

So be wary of these unlocked and cracked Xbox 360 systems.  They will work for right now, but that’s not to say that Microsoft won’t brick them in the future.  You also have to be careful about the quality of the unlocking of the system.  Some of these systems when turned on have a grainy picture to them and that is because of the unlocking process and that it might have been done by someone that didn’t quite know what they were doing.

You can also get pirated games that may not work as well as you wanted them to.  Sometimes in the pirating process some of the clarity and features can be lost.  Sometimes whole games just stop working out of nowhere due to a bad copy or scratch in the wrong place.

For some weird reason pirated game disks and DVDs tend to be much more susceptible to scratches then the real, original disks.  It is probably due to the fact that pirated discs are usually done using the cheapest recording media out there.  And you definitely get what you pay for.  So be wary and be careful so you can make sure you’re getting what you want.  If you do really want a cracked and unlocked Xbox 360 system there are plenty of them out there and there are great deals to be had, you just have to realize that you won’t be able to get online with it.

Grainy picture? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, it has nothing to do with the hack, that’s for sure

I actually bought a banned Xbox solely because I wanted all the pirated and free games. I knew going into it that I wouldn’t be able to do the online gaming, but who cares I don’t need that nor would I ever use it. For $200 on craigslist I got a banned Xbox with over 50 games. Try and beat this at the store. You would spend several thousand dollars at least for the same number of games.

I bought one of these used xBox 360s off of Craigslist, but it won’t let me do any online games. Does this mean it was banned?

I brought a few of these banned xbox 360s from Salvage-it.com for about $50 each.
I followed a tutorial on Xbox-scene.com to unbann them and get them back online. It works!!!
