Bootlegged Zumba, Insanity and p90-x dvd box sets on Ebay, Amazon.com and Craigslist and how I ended up getting all 3 sets for free!

Insanity ebay craigslist and amazon dvd set

I tried to purchase the Insanity, p90-x and Zumba workout DVD box sets from Ebay, Amazon.com and Craigslist and found they were all cheap bootlegged copies!

If you’ve been watching TV and the latest fitness infomercials then you know how hot Zumba, Insanity and p90-x are. They are the latest and most sought after fitness workout DVD sets out there. They are in such demand that they’re everywhere – you will see them for sale on eBay, Amazon.com and even craigslist. The problem though, is that these are all cheap bootlegged copies.

How do I know this? Because I tried to save some money and instead of buying these fitness DVD sets through the actual company Beachbody Fitness like in the infomercials, I tried to save some money by buying them online from what I thought were reputable sellers on eBay, Amazon.com and even craigslist.

First, I purchased a set DVD set of insanity through my local craigslist here in New York City. The seller would not let me come to his house and had me meet him in a ady parking lot. The set looked to be correct as they had all 13 DVDs including the three bonus DVDs that they recently added to the latest infomercial. So I paid the guy $65 for the set and figured this was a great buy because it’s normally $129 or so.

When I got home, however, this great deal turned sour fast. Out of the 13 DVDs only two of them worked. I tried my computer and my DVD player and out of them I could only get two of the DVDs to work. So I called the seller to tell them that the DVDs did not work and all I got was a message machine. I left a message and they never called me back.

I found some other people on the message board at craigslist and found that this individual had been selling bootlegged Insanity DVDs from China. They were very cheap DVDs and no one that bought a set from him had a full working set.  They all told me to file a complaint with craigslist and that one craigslist kind of complaints they would blacklist this sellers selling account.  But that still didn’t help me as I had a bad Insanity DVD set.

Meanwhile my wife bought a Zumba dvd set from Ebay.  She had used eBay for years and figured that that was a reliable source and that she would get the product that she ordered and that if she didn’t get a real Zumba DVD set that worked than she would be able to get her money back with their Ebay buyer protection program and guarantee.  It took over two weeks for the item to finally arrive and when it did, guess what?  Out of the four DVDs in the set 2 of them didn’t work.  In the Zumba set there is four DVDs and two of them did not work at all.

So we filed a claim on eBay and it ended up we had to send the bootlegged DVD set back to the seller and we were refunded our money minus the return shipping charge.  So at least this time we got her money back but that doesn’t change the fact that they sell bootlegged DVDs on eBay.  Now after this, I had always trusted Amazon.com and never had a problem through them, so I decided to buy a dvd set of p90-x through them.  And guess what?  That was a bootlegged DVD set also.  But, I was able to get my money back from Amazon similar to eBay.

After this you’d figure I’d learned my lesson and go back to Beachbody, right?  Wrong.  I actually found through friend that they had gotten these workout DVD sets and more for free from a peer-to-peer torrent download site.  Since they already had the working DVDs, I asked them if they could does Bernie copies of them so I could use them.  They did they all worked great and still do.  In the end, I lost $65 to that jerk on craigslist, but I made out on the plus side because I am not getting all three of them for free from my friend.  So I saved several hundred dollars in the process.

My friend said the website he used to download these copies from was the Pirate Bay.  When I have time I will go back and check out that website and see what else they have that I can download for free.  Until then my advice to you is to stay away from craigslist, eBay and Amazon if you’re looking to buy DVD box sets – they are all cheap bootlegs and you will only be disappointed in the end.  The best deal is to either get copies from a friend or download it yourself from the Pirate Bay or similar torrent download site.

Interesting. I was about to pay $70 for the Zumba dvd set on TV. I will try the free download sites you mentioned and let you know how they work.

I bought a bootlegged Insanity off of Craigslist.com. I paid $65 to a guy that I met in a parking lot at the local Wal-Mart and when I got home to play it none of the CDs worked and they looked like they were all scratched. I tried to call this person to return them and they won’t answer their phone. Be aware that boxed DVD sets like Insanity on craigslist that are selling for a low price are definitely bootlegged copies and you will get ripped off! You have been warned!

Ahh being out of shape. One comment I will discuss about that is that it is far easier to keep in shape then to get back to where you were. Trust me.

I got burned with a bootlegged Insanity off of Craigslist. Only 4 of the 13 dvds worked and the seller would not give me dvds that worked nor give me my money back. Do not buy Insanity dvds off of Craigslist – they are all illegal bootlegged copies and don’t work!

Healthy eating and excercise is the key to losing weight. It is not that difficult with a little hard work! Always be wary of “miracle” products.

I got screwed with a bootlegged Insanity set from Craigslist here in Atlanta. Some guy named Charles meets you in a local parking lot like Wal-mart and you pay him and he’s gone. It all looks legit until you get home and try and play it. Then you find the DVD’s don’t work at all. Out of the 13 dvds only 1 worked in the set I bought. They will not give you your money back either. I called Beach Body and gave them Charles phone number and information. Maybe they will sue the bastard.

You really have some nerve to try and discredit all sellers of workout videos on Craigslist. It’s unfortunate that you met with a shady dealer, but in the end you ended up being shady yourself.
I’ve sold dozens of sets of p90x and Insanity via Craigslist and guarentee that they all worked. I even carry a portable DVD player to allow customers to check out all of the copies for themselves before parting with their money. And I only charged $30 for my copies. You know why you went looking for a cheaper route? Because the real price is much too high. You know it and they know it. My point is that there are some honest DVD sellers on CL. Don’t lump us all in the same category because you were unwise in the way you did business with someone in a parking lot.

You are right. That jackass driving around in a van and advertising his bootlegged copies off of Craigslist should be avoided. The dvds are of such cheap quality that they don’t work after just a few uses. Seriously, the dvds I bought for $25 are useless and don’t work anymore at all. What a scam!

@C. Montgomery Burns: First, you are doing something that is illegal. Selling fakes and stealing copyrighted material and having DVDs that work, does preclude the fact that you are doing something illegal.

@all–Second, if you want the products you are searching for, with a 30 money back guarantee, then buy the sets from a local coach who will support your efforts. Beachbody has great support from the members and the coaches.

If you think that those workouts are over-priced to get fit and healthy, consider how much money you just lost to stay fat and frustrated. Use the payment plan, get the results you want with the correct materials, and be happy!

    Just sayin’
