Proactiv acne solution – a review of an overhyped, 2nd rate benzoyl peroxide skin cleaning system…

Proactiv acne solution complaints

Proactiv stands for be proactive and don't buy it because it doesn't work as claimed!

I have seen the advertisements for the Proactiv skincare and cleansing system on TV for quite some time and I had always been wondering why it is not sold in local stores like Wal-Mart and Walgreens. So one day I bought it after I saw all these ads of people with great-looking skin after using it and horrible before pictures with pockmarked and acne covered skin.

They even used celebrities like P diddy, Lauren from the popular TV series The Hills and numerous other celebrities, stars and celebrity wannabes. They all make it look like it’s a fantastic skin cleansing and clearing system. So I purchased it and gave it a try. It took about 2 1/2 weeks for it to arrive at my house, and the purchase price, if I remember correctly, was $39. It came with a free tiny version of it that they called the traveling kit.

It looked remarkably similar to a product that you can actually purchase at your local Wal-Mart, grocery store or drugstore called Acne Free. The difference was acne free is currently selling for $14.99 at Wal-Mart. There is a big difference between that and the $39 for proactive. Well anyway, so I used the Proactiv system and follow the directions to a T.

my skin did not get any clearer and if anything got a little redder and rawer.  I thought maybe it was just a product that would take a week or two to kick in, so I give it more time and I used the Proactiv kit for 4 weeks before I had decided my skin had enough of a product that did not work very well.   I then looked at the ingredients on the Proactiv bottles and the container and then compared these to several products readily available dirt cheap at Wal-Mart.

The closest comparison was the acne free kit priced at $14.99.  So I purchased the acne free kit and followed the instructions with their kit.  The difference was that their product did not react with my my skin in the same way that the Proactiv did.  I did not have any redness feeling like my skin was rubbed raw.  And to top it off, after a week and a half of using the Acne Free, my skin got much clearer the acne I had, pimples and zits started to disappear.

So I stuck with the Acne Free.  Now my skin never got totally clear, but it was greatly improved compared to that with Proactiv.  I then tried to take corrective up on their guarantee and return the skincare kit.  They said I had taken too long to did not qualify for a return.  In other words, their product doesn’t work, they know it doesn’t work and they don’t want to give anyone their money back which is a good indication of a complete scam.

I recommend Acne Free which is cheaper and works better than Proactiv.  I do not recommend Proactiv and think it is a scam or a possibly mislabeled and fraudulent product and this is most likely why it is not sold in stores – because it doesn’t work!

The old adage, “you are what you eat” cannot be truer than when it comes to common causes of acne. Often individuals who do not consume a healthy diet or whose diet lacks the proper amount of critical vitamins and minerals find that their acne is worse or flares up after bad food. Your body must be healthy before your skin can improve so strive to eat a well balanced diet. If you are experiencing acne problems, look first at the nutrition value of your current diet.

I used Proactiv years ago and it didn’t work worth horse crap back then. It is a scam and there is a reason why it’s only sold on TV and not in stores – it doesn’t work! Proactiv sucks and is a complete waste of money!

Proactiv sucks. It made my skin break out and become agitated and red. My skin only looked worse after using Proactiv. Soap and water works far better!

This product sucks seriously. Before using Proactiv, I’m using Vichy and Avene. Both were satisfying but there were still blackheads and Proactiv claims that they can also clear up those blackheads and whiteheads, therefore I decided to give it a try and I was feeling pretty confident that my blackheads would go away but before it did happen, my face was breaking out worse than ever! Before using Proactiv, Vichy and Avene had NEVER broke me out this bad. Bad bad product and don’t get me wrong, I don’t really eat oily food. Still … disappointed.

Proactiv sucks. It made my skin break out and become much worse. I now have acne, pimples and zits in places I didn’t previously and its all Proactiv’s fault!

Proactive made my skin break out and I developed a rash that lasted for over six months and required my going to a dermatologist to get prescription strength topical medicine for it.

Proactiv sucks – there are many better products like Oxy Clinical which are cheaper and proven to work better.
