Sears Kenmore dishwasher review – these dishwashers suck!

Sears Kenmore dishwasher review

I bought a Sears Kenmore brand dishwasher and was very disappointed in it.

I have previously had other brands of dishwashers and never really had a problem other than the fact that they wear out after 8 to 10 years of use. So I had to replace a dishwasher and I saw an advertisement for up to 40% off on all Sears Kenmore dishwashers. So I went to the local mall to check out these dishwashers at Sears.

When I got there I looked at all the different models of dishwashers that they had. and I picked one that I thought would be great and it was white in color. The price was right around the range where I wanted to be – below $450. And the salesperson promised me that these dishwashers are built with the best quality in the industry and last virtually forever and are virtually indestructible.

So we had the dishwasher delivered and installed and it ran fine for about two weeks. Then it started making noise like there was something trapped inside the machine. It sounded like all ball bearing going around and around and around. Maybe something broke off somewhere and was spinning around the machine while it was running – I don’t know?

The noise got louder and louder every time we ran it and it didn’t sound good at all. So I turned off the machine and called Sears as it was covered under warranty. They were good about getting it fixed, but the problem is that this machine kept having problem after problem.
It was good for a while, usually about three or four months, and then something would go wrong with it again.

And wouldn’t you know it as soon as this dishwasher’s warranty was up it stopped working altogether. Literally about a week after the warranty was up the dishwasher stopped working altogether. Now I would find out it was going to cost more to fix this Sears Kenmore brand dishwasher then to buy another one.

After this experience with Sears, their very low quality Kenmore brand appliances and their salesmen that will lie to you through their teeth – yes the salesperson said that these things last forever and are virtually indestructible – I don’t think I will ever be going back to Sears to buy anything ever again. How can you trust a store or brand were they sell you something of inferior quality, lie to you and basically screw you over?

If you’re looking for an appliance like a dishwasher definitely do not buy one with the Sears Kenmore brand name on it.

I had the EXACT same problem with my Kenmore which I replaced today after only 14 months with a GE. I was furious. What I think was happening was the filter inside lifts up during the wash cycle which allows a piece of broken glass from a cup to slide through the filtration system and burns up the motor. There will not be another Kenmore product in my home!

My Sears Kenmore QuietGuard Deluxe Dishwasher is a pain in the backside. I’ve had it 8 months. With each passing month, it contines to get louder (a very annoying howl). I rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Even taking care to rinse them well, I contine to get one or two smeary, dirty dishes with each load. I’ve contacted Sears about 6 times. The Sears Appliance Sales Associate in Chehalis WA said to call 1-800-469-4663. I called, but if they come to look at it, it will cost us $109.00. I was under the impression that it was covered for one year!

I had some Maytag appliances installed in my house and they broke fast. They fixed them but then they broke, and broke again and now they are out of warranty and they keep breaking and are costing me an arm and a leg! Someone please help me. Maytag won’t return my calls anymore.
