Disaster Date – a review of MTV’s hottest new reality dating show!

Disaster Date MTV reality show

Definitely a funny show worth watching…

Have you seen the latest TV dating and reality show? There are a lot of these reality shows out there, but the one I’m talking about is Disaster Date. In the show people will set up their friends on a blind date that is guaranteed to be outrageous, funny for viewers and the worst date they could ever imagine for their friend.

I happened upon this show one night when I was flipping through the channels trying to find some to watch at three o’clock in the morning. I landed on this disaster date and decided to watch and see what it was. It was hilarious. On one date this lesbian was set up with an actor playing a lesbian whom was already pre-informed as to their friends total turn offs. And they went and hit every button or turn off for this person.

The friend’s main turnoffs were burping in public, and a few other things that I can’t remember, but it was hilarious to watch as the actor Burt and cause all kinds of mayhem on a date that drove the person on the receiving end of this date crazy. She burped throughout her meal, ate extremely sloppily and in a very disgusting fashion and then even tried to pick a fight with other patrons (also actors) in the restaurant.

Usually on each show there are 2 to 3 of these disaster dates and each of them is equally funny to watch. From a woman with a hairy stomach to a kleptomaniac that collects gum from everyone he sees and steals toilet tissue and toilet covers from the bathroom to a lady that signs abad tune to everything in the most annoying fashion possible.  I don’t see how these people actually sit still for this.

If I was on the receiving end of one of these disaster dates I would have gotten up to leave much sooner. But the good thing here is that the person on the receiving end gets paid a dollar a minute that they last on this date up to a maximum of $60. I only have seen one person last the full $60 or 60 minutes. I think I would’ve booked at the $10 or $20 mark.  I don’t think I could give anyone more time than that on a date as horrible some of these are.

I do want to bet that they do a lot more of these disaster dates they actually show on each program as many of these people or victims probably leave too early to make for a viable show.  But I looked it up on the Internet and for those that are instead they’re actually doing casting calls in various cities for upcoming shows on Disaster Date.  So if you want to get your 20 minutes or so of fame and get paid a few dollars you can have a good laugh and even get a little revenge on one of your friends.

Regardless, if you’re looking for something mindless and funny that you don’t have to watch in sequence, Disaster Date is definitely up your alley.  I don’t know if it’s quite as funny as MTV’s Silent Library, but it is fun to watch and I fully recommend it.

I saw this show once on late night TV. It is pretty funny. I especially liked the girl that kept burping and farting. I also liked the one with the guy that kept stealing stuff. Very funny show.
