Steak N Shake restaurant review – Great burgers and friendly service!

Steak N Shake restaurant review

Steak N Shake really surprised me! Great food and service! I highly recommend them to all!

“Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house” – just kidding… I thought I’d start this review on a funny note. Well, anyway, I got hungry for lunch today and took a friend of mine and we decided to go to Steak N Shake on South Blvd. here in Charlotte, North Carolina for a late lunch.

When we got to Steak N Shake we were lucky because most of the lunch crowd had left. So we sat at the counter and ordered our food. We didn’t have to wait very long and the lady that waited on us was very nice and polite. She took our order and we could actually watch it being made right in front of us – that was kind of neat to watch.

Well, I ordered a Western barbecue and bacon steak Burger with fries and my friend ordered a double steak Burger (I guess he was quite hungry as that’s a pretty big hamburger sandwich). My burger was very good and ranks right up there with Hardee’s and Arby’s hamburgers and sandwiches.

This was far better than the crap burgers served at McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s (last time I ordered a Wendy’s hamburger it was literally dripping with fat and grease and I felt sick after eating it – I will never eat at Wendy’s again). The burgers were really filling in the fries were very tasty and not overly salted like you usually get with most fast food places (McDonald’s french fries suck).

The guy in the back that was cooking the burgers was really nice too and even came over and talked to us for a little bit. It almost makes you feel like you’re eating lunch at a local diner in a very small town where everybody knows everybody (kind of like on the TV show Cheers – the bar where everyone knows your name).

Then this hot chick came in and sat next to us. She was a secretary at a local car dealership and she told us her job is very boring lately as the recession has really slowed down the car business. According to her they even had to let some of their salespeople go because business was so slow.

Well, my review of the Steak N Shake on South Blvd. is that it was a really good place to eat lunch. We got great burgers, great service and my friend even ended up with a date.

steaknshake doesn’t cook their bacon well enough.Uncooked bacon has a lot of food bacteria and must be cooked too the right temperature too kill bacteria and germs. Tapeworm eggs and bacteria are all present in raw pork.

I was disappointed to find out that smoking is allowed until 10:00am at the Farmington,MO restrauant. The sign outside the door implies no smoking, but when we went in for breakfast I smelled smoke and was very tempted to walk out. There was 25 plus people in the non smoking area and 5-6 people in the smoking. I don’t get it, why cater to the minority over the health of the majority? Even though the food was good, I left with smokey hair and a raspy throat. I guess you don’t need my business, any how.

I was suprised this morning at Steak n Shake on Victory Ln in Indianapolis, IN. I ordered three orders of biscuits and gravy with an egg. I was suprised that James told me they don’t serve breakfast till 6 AM and it was 5:25 AM.
Went to macdonalds but the quality was not up to Steak N Shake’s.
I thought Steak N Shake served breakfast 24/7.
